Hello, my friends, and welcome to this week’s episode of Music By Design.
This is our first official transit episode.
And in this episode, I’m going to do, I think, two things.
Maybe three.
Two things I can think of off the top of my head.
One is I’m going to start by listing off the dates of some major transits that I see happening in regards to how the Human Design Chart works, as well as some of these will roll over and apply to the astrology world as well, because there is an aspect of astrology in human design.
So there’s a bunch of different transits happening.
And then I’m going to focus in on one in particular and go more in depth into that particular gate, because that gate is found in the Incarnation Cross of Sean Kinney, my husband, who I interviewed two episodes ago.
So maybe you’re starting to see how all of these little episodes of, clusters of three or so episodes all relate to each other.
And it helps me to keep these in shorter bite size pieces so that you can hopefully take them in on your commute to work or doing whatever it is you’re doing when you listen to this.
So I’m going to start with, again, thank you for being here.
And so the transits coming up for the month of February, there’s a lot.
Okay, so I’m going to try and go in chronological order here, even though my notes are not necessarily chronological.
So on January 31st, we began Venus Retrograde Preshadow.
Venus Retrograde Preshadow is going to take the whole month of February.
All this is is just going to show us all the energies that Venus is going to retrograde back through once it goes retrograde in March.
So all of February, pay attention to any themes that come up for you around Venetian things.
So values, physical stuff, you know, the physical world, beauty.
You know, do you feel compelled to do a major hair drastic haircut?
Don’t do it during Venus Retrograde.
Don’t get yourself banged.
Unless unless you’ve already been thinking about it for a long time, then now’s the time.
But don’t do it on impulse.
You know, any major change to your physical self or your physical environment, just just ride it out for another month or so.
Wait until May to make any major, major, major changes if you can.
Let’s see.
Venus is going to be retrograding through gates from gate 36.5 through back through gate 25 through gate 17 and gate all the way to gate four line two.
So those are the themes we’re going to be looking at.
I’m not going to go too deep.
I’m not going deep at all into the meanings of those gates.
But just be aware, Venus retrograde pre-shadow is the entire month of February.
Pay attention because those are the themes that you’re going to be asked to really sit with during retrograde in March.
February 1st through the 9th, Neptune is conjunct the north node in gate 36.6.
Maybe you caught just a moment ago, I mentioned that Venus is going to be going retrograde in gate 36.5.
So those three planets are going to be conjunct in the first week of February.
Neptune, the planet of dreams and kind of mystery and maybe confusion, and it’s watery and murky and definitely emotional.
And gate 36 is an emotional solar plexus gate.
It has been defined for a little while in the nodes.
And y’all are getting blasted with a full defined channel with this gate.
So this gate wants to create chaos in order to experience something new.
So pay attention to anywhere where maybe you’re being a little bit of drama queen.
And just, you know, don’t make any rash decisions.
Don’t change your life just because you’re bored, okay?
Don’t cause drama just because you’re bored, please.
Also, on February 9th, the last day of this conjunction with Neptune in the North node, on February 9th, we have the Mercury and the Sun are conjunct.
It’s what we call a cazimi in Gate 49.3 in Aquarius.
And this is the gate I’m going to be going more in depth on a little bit later in the episode because my husband has Gate 49 in his unconscious son.
And also, my father has Gate 49 in his conscious son, I believe.
So, hmm, you know how we say we sometimes we marry our fathers as hard as we might try not to.
I don’t want to say I married my father.
I think that experiencing my father helped me to prepare me to experience my husband.
I’m going to flip it that way.
And then this is also going to happen again.
The Mercury in the Sun will be cazimi again on March 24th, because Mercury is going retrograde on March 15th.
So it’s going to retrograde back.
So that’s for March.
But we’re focusing on February right now.
But just know Mercury and Sun cazimi.
So when the Mercury and Sun are cazimi, this is when the Sun is shining this theme down upon us.
And Mercury is wanting us to talk about it, to create things around it, to maybe take things apart and put things back together around this theme.
And so I’m going to go more in depth into what that theme is in a moment.
Oh, I went a little bit out of order on February 4th.
Jupiter will be going direct in Gate 16 in Gemini.
Jupiter has been retrograde for a number of months.
It has retrograded backwards through Gate 45, Gate 36, and then Gate 16, and now it’s going to go direct in Gate 16 and go back through 35 and then 45 again.
So when Jupiter goes direct on the 4th, all the planets will be direct at the end of the month because Jupiter is going to go direct on the 4th, and then Mercury is going to go retrograde and we’re going to lose it.
But all planets will be direct from February 24th to March 2nd.
What else?
We’ve got February 12th.
We have a full moon at 854 a.m.
in Gate 4.
And February 27th, we have a new moon at 745 p.m.
in Gate 37.
Now, what do you do with all this?
What I recommend is pull out your chart and take a look.
Which of these gates do you already have defined?
Any of these gates that you already have defined, you’re not necessarily going to be directly feeling the impact of these transits on a, like, like they’re impacting you on their own.
But what I find is that when I have a gate defined and we have a transit, I’m gonna be talking about it with others who maybe are experiencing that energy more potently because they have that gate undefined.
So when you have it undefined and you go through a transit, then you’re going to be impacted more by that transit in that you’re gonna be directly experiencing these themes.
When you have that gate defined, it’s more like people that are experiencing the themes come to you and are asking for your help with these themes.
There’s something that other people recognize this energy within you and might come asking you about it or you might just be having conversations with people at the grocery store or in line somewhere or at the coffee shop or at a business meeting.
These are just themes that are going to come up.
So it’s a matter of if you already have it defined, you’re going to be witnessing it happening kind of for other people.
And if you have it undefined normally, you’re going to be directly experiencing this theme coming up for you.
So that’s one way to kind of like look at it in your chart.
Also, does this transit define a gate that then creates a fully defined channel for you?
So, for example, Mercury in the Sun or Kazemi in Gate 49.
If you have Gate 49 normally undefined, but you do have Gate 19 defined in your chart, this transit is going to fully define the 1949 channel for you for that day or couple of days.
So you’re going to get to experience kind of the full emotional wave because it is an emotionally defined channel.
You’re going to experience the emotional wave of this channel.
And just be aware, you know, when we are aware that these transits are happening for us and we’re getting definition in places we don’t normally have that consistent access, we can kind of be able to support ourselves through the stuff that might be difficult.
We can also plan to take action at times when normally we have to kind of wait more.
So it just depends on what is going on for you in your chart.

Now, the other major thing that’s going on, and this is related to Gate 49, is February begins this wonderful time that we lovingly refer to as the Solar Plexus Process in the Human Design world.

This is a really great little guide that you can use to follow along with as I’m going through it now here on the podcast, or you can go at any time and go get the guide for yourself and use it in conjunction with any other supportive tools or practices you have.
You can pull cards around each gate.
You can journal using the contemplative questions that I’ve included.
You can just read about them and hold them in your mind as we are moving through each of these energies and just use it for staying present and aware and as emotionally level and neutral and objective as possible as we move through this kind of heightened time.
The solar plexus process begins on February 7th when the sun moves into Gate 49.
Gate 49 is a gate that you can find in the Emotional Solar Plexus Center.
Then on February 13th, the sun moves into Gate 30, also found in the solar plexus.
Then on February 19th, the sun moves into Gate 55, also found in the solar plexus.
Then on February 24th, the sun moves into Gate 37.
You guessed it, also found in the solar plexus.
So right there for like four weeks in a row, we are getting emotional energy, neutrino stream beaming down upon us from the sun.
On March 2nd, we get a little bit of a break from the emotional energy when the sun moves into Gate 63.
Gate 63 is located in the head center, but guess what?
It’s not necessarily really that much relief because the head center is a pressure center.
And Gate 63 is often referred to as the Gate of Doubt.
So be aware of after going through all this emotional stuff of then doubting your entire life and kind of having an existential crisis and feeling under pressure to figure out your life.
It’s okay.
You don’t have to make any changes or do anything.
It’s just the energy.
Just pay attention to what are you learning through this process.
Then on March 7th, the sun moves into yet another emotional gate, Gate 22.
And then finally on March 13th, the sun moves into Gate 36, the last of the six emotional gates in this process.
And it moves out of Gate 36 on March 18th.
So, a little bit more than a whole month, we get six out of the seven emotional solar plexus gates being highlighted by the sun in the transits.
So, it’s a fun time.
It’s a time where, you know, it’s hilarious to me that Valentine’s Day falls in the middle of this, at the beginning of this energy.
On February 14th, the sun will be in Gate 30.
30 is known as the Gate of Passion.
It’s fire over fire.
It is some hot and spicy energy.
It can burn you up or keep you warm.
But it’s a very passionate energy.
Gate 49, which we’re going to talk about more, comes right before that.
And Gate 49 is the energy of either marriage or divorce, acceptance or rejection.
Gate 49 is what I call the no gate.
There’s a yes gate in Human Design.
That’s Gate 29, my conscious son.
And wherever there’s a yes gate, there’s got to be a no gate.
Gate 49 is it.
Gate 49 is a gate that really needs to be courted.
It needs to have an idea gently massaged into it over time before it will finally agree and say yes.
It’s a very fascinating energy.
So before we get into that, just know, the solar plexus process is happening.

So let’s talk about gate 49.
Gate 49, sun will be in this gate February 7th through the 12th.
So gate 49 is in Aquarius.
This is Aquarius Energy.
It is part of the tribal circuitry network within the Human Design Chart.
Tribal circuitry tends to have to do with resources, not just money, but like food, water, land.
Often, tribal circuitry has to do with reproduction, the furthering of the genetics of the species.
We have all of these themes, bargains and agreements.
We have all of these themes within tribal circuitry.
Within tribal circuitry, we have two different sub-circuits.
One’s called the defense circuit, and one is called the ego circuit.
Gate 49 is part of the ego circuit.
That’s what we call it in traditional human design.
In quantum human design, we call it the economic circuit.
Gate 49 and really the whole channel, the 1949 channel, has a quality of what we call projected energy.
Now, I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about or you’ve already known about what’s called to be a projector in human design as a type.
But did you know that every single gate and channel carries a different quality of energy?
So you can be a generator type, but if you have gate 49 defined, you have projected energy qualities within your energy in this gate or in this channel.
When we talk about projected energy, what we’re talking about is if you know, the strategy of the projector is to wait for the invitation.
All projected energies in the chart, no matter what your type is, they all require some level of recognition and an invitation in order for that energy to be in the highest expression of its frequency.
If you are acting out of impulse or not being invited or from a place of scarcity or wanting attention and recognition before you’ve gotten it, then this energy will be expressed in its lower expressions.
Gate 49 is located in the Emotional Solar Plexus.
If you look in your chart, you can find it.
It’s on the lower left side.
It’s in the lower cluster of three gates on the left side, reaching for Gate 19 towards in the root.
When 49 is connected to Gate 19, we get the fully defined channel of synthesis.
It’s called the channel of synthesis in traditional human design.
Sometimes it’s also referred to as the channel of love and marriage in traditional human design.
But unfortunately, that’s not, you know, to call it the channel of love and marriage kind of can feel exclusive for people who don’t believe in marriage or people who are polyamorous or, you know, any of those sorts of things.
It can feel a little exclusive in a little old paradigm.
So what I love is the new paradigm way of looking at things through quantum human design.
It’s the channel of intimacy and connection.
Again, we call it the channel of synthesis.
It’s about bringing parts together to create something more.
So going back to the gate 49 alone, in the I Ching, it is called the gate of revolution.
In traditional human design, it’s called the gate of principles.
And in quantum human design, it is called the catalyst.
As I mentioned earlier, gate 49 can give like no vibes.
This is about being sensitive to the needs of your tribe.
And when I talk about tribe, we’re talking about your…
Traditionally, the tribe is your blood family.
In more modern times, it can be anyone that is really close to you, really connected to you, anyone with whom you share resources regularly.
And it’s really interesting because this gate is one of the gates that’s undergoing mutation right now.
It’s very apparent and very obvious in the way everything in the world is shifting that the traditional tribe, the traditional blood family, the tribe, the clan, it’s just been breaking down for years because of the expansive nature of the collective and the expansive efforts of the individuals.
The gap between the two is becoming wider and wider.
And so the way we’ve thought of tribes in the past, you know, family is everything.
It’s just not working for most people anymore.
And so instead of us just being lost in the collective as individuals, we’re finding ways of creating new tribes that aren’t necessarily about furthering our genetics, our genetic gene pool, but more about supporting each other in equanimity.
And so we often find a tribe of our own outside of the traditional family.
Sometimes we find it through a thing like a music festival.
This was a concept.
I didn’t really understand it at first when I first started going to small music festivals, people calling each other family.
It was very strange to me because I’d only ever been indoctrinated with one way of knowing what a family was for a long, long, long time.
And I knew there was other, you know, configurations as far as beyond the traditional husband-wife, two and a half kids dog picket fence thing.
I’m not that naive.
I know that there’s other ways of having family, but people truly, really like loving and supporting each other and creating community and being connected through something as beautiful as music.
And you can have community through so many other different avenues and lifestyles, but that’s one that really resonates for me now after having been a part of one, even after having kind of stepped back from that community for a long time, I found I still have support and connection from the people that I have met and connected with over the years that still love and cherish me for who I am.
And it’s cool because it’s also been a little bit of a testing ground when I stepped back from that community from being very, very active part of it to being more on the sidelines.
The people that stuck around are the ones that really count.
So it’s great.
And yeah, and the music community stepped up for me when I was going through some stuff when my dog was sick and I needed financial help and I made a GoFundMe and a lot of people contributed to it and helped out with some of those bills.
And it was great.
And I love paying it forward.
Whenever I see someone is sick or someone is struggling within the music community, I am usually pretty quick to, you know, throw throw out $25 or $50 or $100 or whatever I can afford at the time and just be a part of it.
And and it’s it’s it’s part of part of being in a tribe is like feeling safe, feeling that reassurance that when you are in need, you can reach out and ask for help and people will show up.
They really will.
So this gate 49, it’s about being sensitive to the needs of the tribe.
In quantum human design, this is even part of a sub-sub-circuit that we call the community circuit.
When this circuit is challenged, it’s usually coming from feelings of fear and feelings of lack that make us feel overwhelmed.
And we can often misuse or misallocate the resources that we have, and we can misuse our power.
The biggest lesson through this energy is about needing to learn how to trust in what’s enough, what’s enough for us, what’s not enough for us, what’s enough for others, what’s not enough for others, and not over giving.
And because that can create resentment, projected energy can definitely get resentful and bitter if it over gives or gives when it hasn’t been recognized and invited.
And knowing how to trust in that, knowing how to trust in what that feels like.
In its highest expression, when we are invited in, when we are recognized, and when we have ridden through the emotional wave of it, and we have gained clarity, we can really, really know how and when to respond to the needs of our tribe in a way that creates sustainable and lasting resources for all.
This is gate 49 in a nutshell.
Those are all the facts, if you will.
Now, in my personal experience with this gate, as I kind of touched on earlier, this is an energy that, you know, I get excited about things really quickly.
I’m a manifesting generator.
I get ooze and ahs all the time.
I want to jump in and try things out.
And I just get excited.
I get excited very quickly.
I see potential in things and I want to leap in.
Now, I am committed to and married to my husband who has gate 49 in his unconscious son in his design.
And if I get an idea about something or something I want to bring into our household or change or build, if I just tell him, hey, I want to do this nine times out of ten, he’s going to shoot it down.
It’s just what’s going to happen.
And I’ve had to learn to coach myself in those moments to not take it personally.
He’s not shooting me down.
Just his knee-jerk reaction is to say no to things.
Because he needs time to run it through his core principles.
And he needs time for it to just be massaged into his awareness a little bit.
And it kind of needs to become his idea eventually.
So I’ve learned that if it’s something that I am 100% dead set on, I have to do my own research.
I have to do some preparation work.
I have to crunch some numbers.
I have to present a compelling set of data and how it will benefit us as a tribe.
And sometimes I just need to mention it in a subtle way rather than in a very direct way and let it sit and wait.
And maybe mention it again in a subtle way later and wait.
And eventually, if it truly is aligned for us, and it’s not just an impulse shiny object thing for me, if it really is something that we’re meant for, eventually he will come around and say, Hey, we should do this thing.
And always I have to decide whether I bite my tongue or not.
But always I am like, yep, that’s that thing I told him about six months ago.
Now is the time.
So it’s supportive for me because I do have an emotional wave.
I am supposed to ride things out.
And as a couple, our two charts together do require waiting for emotional clarity.
And so him having this emotional gate, it’s the only emotional gate he has in his incarnation cross.
So we do as a couple, as a tribe, we do need to ride, ride things out over time, wait for emotional clarity.
And my son Gate is Gate 29, the gate that wants to say yes to everything.
And it is often checked and balanced by his Gate 49 that wants to say no to everything.
And when we meet in the middle, we find a nice compromise and a way to do things that are financially sustainable and can help us grow.
So right now we’re in the midst of developing and planning our spring operations for our landscaping business.
We are officially partners in a business called Kinney Property Care.

Wait until you get emotional clarity.
Emotional clarity is not asking, is it, is the time now?
Is it now?
Should I do it now?
That’s not clarity.
Clarity is that it’s like clear cognizance.
It’s like, you just know, you’re like, yep, this is, this is the time or no, this is not the time.
Take it off the table.
Only make decisions from clarity.
Don’t make decisions from pressure.
